Frequently asked questions
Do I need to speak Turkish?
No, not for English-taught programmes. Turkish-taught programmes require Turkish proficiency, which you can gain in a one-year Turkish preparatory programme.
Are WAEC and NECO results accepted?
Yes, many Turkish universities accept WAEC or NECO results for undergraduate admission. Minimum grades and required subjects vary by university and programme, so we check your results against each university’s requirements.
Are there scholarships?
Türkiye Scholarships (Türkiye Bursları) is the government’s fully funded programme with its own annual application. Many private (foundation) universities also offer partial tuition discounts to international students. We tell you which options may suit you.
When do programmes start?
Most programmes start in September or October. Some universities also accept students for the spring semester in February. Application deadlines differ by university.
Will my degree be recognised?
Türkiye is a member of the European Higher Education Area (Bologna Process), which supports the recognition of degrees. Recognition in your home country is decided by its own authorities; we can advise you before you choose.
